Gastritis is a condition associated with the digestion of foods high in protein, and is characterised by the inflammation of the stomach lining.
Gastritis is defined as "Gastric Mucosa", a pre-ulcerative inflammation of the lining of the stomach. This symptom does not always lead to the development of a gastric ulcer, but it is considered a precursor to it, and a good indication that preventative steps to help improve the state of the stomach are necessary.

Additional CommentMany people help reduce the incidence of gastritis and find further benefit from eating in a specific order: fresh ’live’ foods first such as a small portion of salad at least to prepare the digestive system. Next follow cooked vegetables, then the protein portion. Anything starchy should be last. Eating in this order ensures food enters the digestive system in order of digestion time, so that the vegetables can pass through quickly and the more slowly digested protein and starch can follow after.
Take plenty of fresh water. Good quality still mineral water from a glass container is the superior form; though a good tap filter is also satisfactory.
